Adopt a rice field from "Riuet" in Sollana (Spain) and receive your harvest in the form of Jasmine rice at home. The Farmer Jesús will take care of your adoption and take its picture. Also, you will be able to download the adoption certificate and, if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you receive your harvest and you enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
You adopt a rice field in the Natural Park of La Albufera in Valencia. This emblematic place is a natural freshwater wetland declared a natural park in 1986, where rice has been grown since the 15th century. We cultivate your rice, harvest it, leave it to dry in the sun and package it in cotton bags personalized with the name you chose in the adoption process. The seasons mark the calendar of the cycle of rice cultivation: In summer we make use of the sunlight and richness of the substrate to nourish the plants; in winter the fields lay fallow and flooded in order to increase the regeneration of the earth and the aquatic biodiversity. Each rice paddy produces an average of 8kg of Jasmine rice per season.
Each season we will send you a box with: * 4 x __Jasmine rice__ (1kg bags) Variety of long, crystalline and bleached grain, cultivated within the Albufera Natural Park of Valencia (Spain). It is a variety originating from Southeast Asia, long grain and crystalline. Jasmine rice is always loose after cooking due to its organoleptic characteristics. It is recommended for sides and salads. * 4 x __whole grain Jasmine rice__ (1kg bags) Long grain variety, crystalline and whole grain. We grow it in the Albufera Natural Park. It is aromatic and very rich in dietary fibre, vitamins and other essential elements. Especially suitable for healthy and/or vegetarian diets. It is always loose after cooking due to its special characteristics. Recommended for sides and salads. It is boiled in excess water. The best before date is approximately 2 years after the harvest.
