Adopt a goat of our flock "Vega de San Martín" in San Martín de la Vega (Spanien) and receive your harvest in the form of goat cheese at home. The Farmer Ivan Esteban will take care for your adoption and take its picture. Also, you will be able to download the adoption certificate and, if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. As the production coming from one goat is big, the adoption is shared among various people. If you wish to have a bigger share, you may adopt more than once. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you receive your harvest and you enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
The Murciano-Granadina breed has always held a prominent position within Spanish goat farming. This milk has a higher than average amount of fat and protein, which makes it especially suitable for making cheese with excellent flavour and texture. For more than 30 years we have been breeding and selecting the best animals of this breed, so we get the best quality, as we take special care of their environment, feeding, handling and milking. Each goat produces an average of 250 liters of milk each season. With this amount we can produce around 24 kg of goat cheese. Each goat is adopted by 8 CrowdFarmers who receive a box with 3kg of goat cheese.
The box we will send you contains: 1 x __soft cheese__ (piece of 1kg vacuum-packed). Handmade cheese made with pasteurized milk from our goats, with creamy texture and soft in the mouth. Clean and soft smell, with notes of sweet cream and yoghurt. 1 x __semi-cured cheese__ (1 kg piece wrapped in paper). Pressed cheese made with raw milk from our goats, natural rind. Smell of medium intensity, lactic notes at the beginning, an elegant acidity, with notes of sweet cereal and ripe olive. 1 x __cured cheese__ (1 kg piece wrapped in paper). Pressed cheese made with raw milk from our goats, natural rind with mould. Intense smell, fruity and vegetable notes. Firm, somewhat elastic texture with good butteriness.
