You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.
You adopt a pepper plant from our farm in Periana (Spanien) that we cultivate following the Organic Farming regulations of the European Union. We are already in the process of converting and expect to be officially certified by 2025. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your pepper plant. The pepper is a plant that originally comes from the northwestern part of South America and arrived in Europe thanks to Christopher Columbus. It first became popular in Spain, where in the sixteenth century it was already being widely used in kitchens. It belongs to the Solanaceae family, which includes other plants such as potatoes, tomatoes and aubergines. It's a perennial herbaceous plant that is usually grown as an annual or a biennial. We started growing it this year and we'll plant it again in the next season, because the summer plants can't withstand the cold winters in our area. Our variety, the alicum, is part of the sweet pepper family, also known as the Italian pepper. The ideal season for the pepper plant is the summer, as it needs quite a few hours of daylight. In our case, we grow the plant outdoors if it's warm enough in the spring on our traditional, diverse and ecologically rich farm. We do this according to organic farming guidelines to achieve quality products and protect our privileged natural environment. We also integrate vegetable crops into the ancient olive grove, thereby adding value to inland agriculture. Your pepper plant produces an average of 6kg of peppers each season. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.
You can reserve between 0 and 0 boxes for the season, and then progressively plan theit delivery for any of the delivery dates available in the shipment calendar.
