Adopt vines from our farm in Cissac (Frankrike). During the process of adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your vines. You adopt 3 vines from a Cabernet Sauvignon plot of land on our historical farm, Château Lamothe-Cissac. This plot of 4 hectares was planted in 2000, just in front of the castle. The variety is the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the most common variety in the Medoc area. It is well adapted to our region because it grows well on gravel soils. And in the Médoc, thanks to its location between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde river, gravels are the main element in the soil. In order to produce PDO Haut-Médoc wine, we have to respect some strict technical specifications. Of course, the first and most important one is the location of the vineyard: it has to be part of the 4,500 hectares included in this appellation. Then, some rules like a minimum of plants per hectares, the yield per plant have to be respected. On average, a Cabernet Sauvignon grape bunch weighs 150 g. With 8 bunches per plant, one plant produces one bottle of wine. Since the harvest year 2016, the farm is certified High Environmental Value – Level 3. This means that we are taking care of the biodiversity in our vineyard, we protect the local species and we reduce our energy consumption. We do not use anymore weedkillers, all the soils are cultivated by mechanical tools. This certification is the result of several years of work on these different points. The productive life of vines is around 60 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your vines die, we will replace them with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from others.
Each season we will send you a box with: 3 x __Cuvée Fabre de Nature, 2022, PDO Haut-Médoc__ (75cl/bottle) This year we are sending you a box of 3 bottles of our special cuvée Fabre de Nature. This is a no-sulfites wine. That means that we never added a single drop of sulfite during the entire winemaking process. Traditionally, sulfites are added to protect the wine from the oxidation. The color is dark with a very aromatic bouquet. You can taste notes of ripe red fruits and spices. They are characteristic of the Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is very round and easy to drink. It can accompany the aperitif, a plate of cold meats or a light dish. To be enjoyed now! We use a cork with a very low porosity. So, there is no risk of oxidation. But because it is a non-sulfite wine, this wine cannot be stored for years. We recommend opening it before the end of 2021. For storage, a horizontal storage is the best in a room when the temperature does not vary during the year. The best storage conditions are of course a wine cellar with a temperature and humidity control. This wine was officially tasted by professional wine tasters in collaboration with CrowdFarming. You may select the delivery date of your box as suggested by the Farmer at check-out. The harvest takes place between mid-September and mid-October. We start with the Merlots which are the earliest ripening, and then the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petit Verdot to finish. The winemaking process lasts until November. The blending (mixing of the different grape varieties) takes place at the end of the year. This is followed by the period of maturing in barrels which lasts an average of one year. After that, the bottling takes place (which takes about 18 months after the harvest).
