Vad adopterar du?

Adopt vines from our farm in Soussans (Frankrike). During the process of adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your vines. You adopt 3 plants of vines of our tiny vineyard in Margaux appellation, in the Bordeaux region. The vineyard is composed of 4,5 hectares, located in the north of the appellation. The estate is less than 3,5 km from the Gironde river. Thanks to this special localization, there is a special micro climate, which is excellent for the vines. The varieties are the historical varieties of Bordeaux : Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. In Bordeaux, the blending is the tradition. It is very rare to find a wine at 100% of a unique variety. The blending brings a better complexity to the wine. At Château Bellevue de Tayac, Merlot is predominant, which is quite unusual for the left Bank of Bordeaux (normally, Cabernet Sauvignon is predominant). In viticulture, the subsoil and the soil are the two main factors to decide which varieties the winemaker can plant. In our estate, the soil is mostly gravel and sand and the subsoil is composed of clay, which is very good for Merlot. The vineyard was re-modelled 10 years ago. Today, the average age of the vines is 25 years old, which is quite young for a vineyard. A Merlot grape cluster weighs about 170 g (vs 150g for Cabernet Sauvignon and 115g for Petit Verdot). On average, one plant produces 1 bottle of wine. Since the 2018 vintage, the estate is certified High Environmental Value – Level 3. That means that we are taking care of the biodiversity in our vineyard, we protect the local species and we reduce our energy consumption. We do not use any more herbicides, all the soils are cultivated by mechanical means. To get this certification, several years of work have been necessary. Château Bellevue de Tayac 2017 got 90 points (on a 100 points scale) by James Suckling, which is one of the top wine critics in the world. The productive life of vines is around 75 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your vines die, we will replace them with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from others.

Vad får du?

Each season we will send you a box with: 3 x __vin Château Bellevue de Tayac 2019 PDO Margaux__ (0,75l, bottle) The color of the wine is ruby. The nose is intense with some toasted notes and blackcurrant aromas. It is creamy in the mouth. The wine is dense with a very nice balance. The tannins are ripe and silky. The perfect pairing with food could be with duck breast, beef steak or cheese. You may enjoy it right away. In that case, we recommend you to decant it one hour before. If you want to keep it, it can be stored for 15 years. After this period, it will be more more mature and new aromas will appear (tobacco, leather, candied fruits) To obtain the technical data and the detailed results of the official tasting done by professional wine tasters in collaboration with CrowdFarming of this wine you can download the technical data sheet that you can find in the "Additional analyses" section. Given that the wines are analysed as they are bottled, bear in mind that the technical data sheet may correspond to the vintage of the previous year and not to the wine you will receive.

När får du det?

You may select the delivery date of your box as suggested by the Farmer at check-out. The harvest starts in mid-September and finishes in mid-October. The Merlot is the first variety that we are picking, because it is the earliest and then, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The vinification lasts until the end of November. The blendings (the mix of the different varieties) are carried out at the end of the year. Then starts the barrel aging which will last 12 months on average. And finally, the wine is bottled (18 months after the harvest).
