Adopt an olive tree from the "Bastide du Laval" farm in Cadenet (Frankrike) and receive your organic extra virgin olive oil and flavoured organic extra virgin olive oil at home. Roland will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. As the production from one olive tree is big, the adoption is shared among various people. If you wish to have a bigger share, you may adopt more than once. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.
You adopt an olive tree from our farm in Cadenet (Frankrike). The cultivation here has been certified as organic by the European Union as of 2006. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your olive tree. The main olive variety on our farm is Aglandau. It takes its name from the shape of the olives it produces, resembling that of an acorn (“gland” in French). It is the typical variety of the Luberon and ideally picked at the start of the season (mid-October, early November). On our estate we also have the Bouteillan variety, Salonenque, Cayon and the Picholine variety. All these varieties belong to the large Oleaceae family. Harvesting and production take place simultaneously with a period extending from mid-October to mid-December. We harvest the olives with electric combs and nets on the ground. This is the ideal method to combine efficiency with respect for the tree and the fruit. We harvest during the day so that we don’t disturb the fauna in our olive grove, especially the birds. This is why we signed the manifesto for the protection of migratory birds in olive groves. Your adoption is 22 years old and its maximum lifespan is 150 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Over the years, the work on our olive farm has been given awards by various different committees (20 gold medals from Concours Général Agricole de Paris, further gold medals from Concours PACA in Marseille, Brignoles, Draguignan, Nyons and even in Tuscany). Moreover our olive oil is used by numerous star chefs such as the chefs of the Elysée Palace and the Senate. Your adoption produces an average of 20kg of olives each season. With this amount we can produce around 1l of organic extra virgin olive oil and flavoured organic extra virgin olive oil.
Each season we will send you a box with: 1 x __Organic “Origin” extra virgin olive oil__ (0.25 l, bottle) 1 x __Organic olive oil flavoured with basil__ (0.25 l, bottle) 1 x __Organic olive oil flavoured with lemon__ (0.25 l, bottle) 1 x __Organic olive oil flavoured with black truffle__ (0.25 l, bottle) The oil is then obtained without delay, directly from the olives and only by mechanical processes. It is extracted cold. Our olive oils contain different varieties, each bringing their own distinct qualities. The Aglandau will develop very vegetal aromas with a characteristic bitterness and spiciness. The Bouteillan variety is similar to the Aglandau in terms of its herbaceous aromas but will release a less intense bitterness and spiciness. The Salonenque and the Cayon will bring a little sweetness and balance to the vegetal power of the Aglandau. And finally there is the very special Picholine variety, which gives extremely different aromas depending on the harvest period. Our __“Origin” oil__ is a green fruity oil, obtained from olives harvested in mid-November in order to obtain a perfect balance between the vegetal aromas and the “spiciness” characteristic of our terroir. It is the typical oil of the Luberon, perfect for spicing up all your dishes! Our __basil oil__ comes from grinding our end-of-season olives directly with fresh basil from Provence. Containing nearly 10% basil, it has a pronounced and fresh taste of the famous herb. This is the oil that’s been missing from your summer Caprese! Like its basil-flavoured cousin, our __lemon oil__ is the result of grinding our end-of-season olives – this time with whole lemons from Corsica and their zest. The zest gives the oil a sweet, candied sensation. This product will let you rediscover and appreciate fish in all its forms, raw or cooked. As fresh truffles can’t be preserved in oily environments, we had to outdo ourselves in ingenuity to create our exceptional __olive oil flavoured with black truffle__! We had a natural flavour made from dehydrated truffles, which we combined with olive oil made from matured olives that naturally tastes of undergrowth, mushrooms and even truffles! The best way to store olive oil is to keep it away from light and heat, so that it retains all its properties for over 12 months. The ingredient list as well as allergen information can be downloaded from "Additional Analysis".
När får du det?
We harvest our olives and turn them into oil in our own mill at the end of the year, so we can send them to you in early spring each year.
