Adopt vines from the farm "Weingut Bastgen" in Osann-Monzel (Duitsland) and receive your organic white and rosé wine Wild Growth PDO Mosel at home. Mona will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun. These wines were tasted by a group of professional wine tasters that collaborate with CrowdFarming, and were rated __84__ out of a possible 100 points, on average.

Wat adopteer je?

You adopt vines from our farm in Osann-Monzel (Duitsland). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union as of 2011. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your vines. In the slaty, steep slopes of the Mosel, unique grapes grow that are full of minerality. Some of the most exciting wines in the world grow here – and this is also where my home is. I'm Mona Bastgen. Together with my husband, I have been working in our vineyards for almost 30 years now. We have 4 hands, and thousands of vines which are traditionally handcrafted using certified organic farming methods. Our winery is also a member of the Bernkasteler Ring, an association of top wineries in the Mosel. The fungus-resistant grape (FRG) varieties, Sauvignac and Cabernet Blanc, were developed in the Swiss Jura by the grower Valentin Blattner. Traditional hybrid breeding techniques were implemented, using the European varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon for rosé, and Sauvignon Blanc for white. Valentin Blattner crossed them both with wild varieties, which means that the newly created varieties benefit from the "thick skin" of its wild relatives. This way, we can refrain from using even approved organic pesticides, and the grapes produce lovely summery Mosel wines. Our vines stand on small rock formations on steep slopes, supported by primitive masonry. The warm residual soil there is permeated by slate. We refrain from using systemic pesticides and artificial fertilisers, but instead promote the health of the soil and vines with stable manure and toughening, traditional means. Your adoption is 10 years old and its maximum lifespan is 70 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Your adoption produces an average of 6kg of organic grapes each season. With this amount we can produce around 4.5l of organic white and rosé wine Wild Growth PDO Mosel.

Wat krijg je?

Each season we will send you a box with: 3 x __Wild Growth Satin Noir & Cabernet Jura organic dry rosé wine 2021, PDO Mosel__ (0.75l, glass bottle with screw cap) 3 x __Wild Growth Cabernet Blanc & Sauvignac organic dry white wine 2021, PDO Mosel__ (0.75l, glass bottle with Diam cork) In your box from the Mosel you will find a selection of wines, three bottles of rosé and three of white, each with a dry taste. Both wines are produced from robust grape varieties that are able to resist fungal diseases in viticulture, without the need for pesticides, hence the term "wild growth". These are therefore natural wines in the sense that the vines are unsprayed as they grow, and treatment in the cellar such as filtration, and the sulphur content, are kept to a minimum. __Wild Growth Rosé: Satin Noir & Cabernet Jura__ __Tasting notes__: Strong rosé colour, between onion peel and pale red. It has a deep scent of red berries and aromatic woodland air. Pleasantly mild on the palate with a soft mouthfeel and a hint of tannins, the red berries are also present in the taste; a dry-as-dust finish. __Vinification/production__: The grapes of this rosé, which is atypically dry for the Mosel, are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness and when they are in perfect health. They are crushed and then, after a short standing time during which the colour and tannins are extracted, gently pressed under atmospheric pressure. After fermentation with native yeasts, the wine clarifies on its own for months, finally it is coarsely filtered once during bottling. This is all done without the addition of any treatment substances, except for a minimal amount of sulphurisationwhich acts as protection against oxidation before bottling. __Recommendation__: Goes well with pasta, pizza and piquant summer cuisine; goes very well with grilled food. __Wild Growth White: Cabernet Blanc & Sauvignac__ __Tasting notes__: Fragrant and floral in its bouquet, with a hint of banana. Soft mouthfeel and dry, with green-spicy aromas; surprising elements of nettle, and there is also a hint of passion fruit. It fills the mouth well without being heavily alcoholic. __Vinification/production__: The grapes of this white wine, which is atypically dry for the Mosel, are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness and when they are in perfect health. __Recommendation__: An aromatic and thoroughly dry white wine which is good to taste on its own, it can also be combined with crackers or cheese, and it is a versatile accompaniment to fish, white meat and intense vegetables. __Storage__: You can enjoy these wines immediately, but they can also be stored for 1–3 years. We use diam corks which are made of cleaned cork, this means that we prevent the cork from crumbling causing the wine to become undrinkable. This wine was officially tasted by professional wine tasters in collaboration with CrowdFarming. For more information please download the technical data sheet that you can find when clicking on the "Additional analyses" seal. Please note that the technical data sheet may correspond to the vintage of the previous year and not to the wine you will receive, as the tasting only considers completely aged wines.

Wanneer ontvang je het?

In May of each year, after about 9 months of maturation, we fill the wine from the late summer harvest of the previous year from the barrels into bottles. It is then ready for shipping. We try to offer regular shipping dates throughout the entire summer.
