Adopt vines from the farm "Wein- und Essigmanufaktur Kaltenthaler" in Worms (Duitsland) and receive your harvest in the form of organic white wine Riesling PDO Rheinhessen at home. The Farmer Jan will take care of your adoption and take its picture. Also, you will be able to download the adoption certificate and, if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you receive your harvest and you enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption. This wine was tasted by professional wine tasters that collaborate with CrowdFarming and received __91__ out of 100 possible points.
Adopt vines that we cultivate under the Organic Farming regulations of the European Union since 2007. During the process of adoption you can choose a name that we will engrave on a plaque and hang on your tree. We invite you to adopt a group of 6 organically farmed Riesling vine stocks from our vinery. The vine stocks are especially grown for the wine production and thereby produce a higher quality of grapes compared to the ones you can buy at a supermarket. Their origin is the Oberrhein close to our home. Riesling is a hybrid of Heunisch × *Vitis vinifera subsp. sylvestris* (the wild-type vine stock) and a Traminer-clone. To us, the riesling became one of our favorites. It’s highly tolerant to cold and dry conditions, thus very well adapted to our region. In addition, the wine produced from these vine stocks gets ranked as some of the best wine in its category year after year. For some years we have produced our wine according to vegan standards as well. Some of our wine is even suited for histamine intolerant wine lovers, as it is produced under strict guidelines to warrant a histamine-free certification by the German government. Besides the Riesling, we grow well known vine stocks like Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and some perfectly adapted stocks like Regent at our vineyard too. All vine stocks have been planted by our family. Some of the oldest were even planted by Jans, my grandfather who grew with our family to the third generation. Vine stocks can grow up to 50 years or older, on occasion even older than a human being. At our winery we farm 3,8 ha. The average vine stock is about 12 years old. To continue running the numbers: One vine stocks holds about 1kg of grapes each year. This equals pretty accurately a bottle of wine. The productive life of vines is around 50 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your vines die, we will replace them with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from other vines.
Each season we will send you a box with: 6 x __organic Riesling, 2021__(0.75l, bottle) This white wine is probably one of the best known German wines and a real classic. The taste balances fresh fruit perfectly with its crisp acidity, we expanded it to a dry white wine. It pairs best with fish dishes or as pure enjoyment with friends e.g. on the balcony. We think that it should be drunk as young as possible. Storage of up to 2 years does not harm its taste though. We work completely without additives of preservation, sweeteners and thickeners, and without animal products. For white wine, we generally recommend to drink it within 4-5 days after opening. After this time, it can lose its aroma and become sour. Nevertheless, it is still fine for cooking. The wines from these vine stocks receive numerous awards annually. For some years now, the wine has even been produced according to vegan standards. People that are particularly affected by histamine will find that our wine is produced according to German standards and approved as histamine-free. You may select the delivery date of your box as suggested by the Farmer at check-out. The grapes are harvested quite late in October depending on their perfect ripeness. Then, we carefully process them into wine. The bottling takes place around March / April of the following year. Some days later we can finally ship the wine to your place.
