Adopt 4.5m² of a vegetable plot from "bioLesker" in Stadtlohn (Duitsland) and receive your Bioland organic vegetables at home. Franz-Josef will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you have received your Bioland organic vegetables and enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
You adopt 4.5m² of a vegetable plot from our farm in Stadtlohn (Duitsland). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union and as Bioland as of 1993. You are adopting a little bit of bioLesker. Our vegetables come from our biogas-operated greenhouse and from organic outdoor cultivation – many from our market garden. Vegetable varieties have interesting names: in your harvest box, you will find Chelino and Plumola, our tomatoes, as well as Lech, and Korist, our varieties of kohlrabi. You'll also receive our Xiomara romaine salad, and DeeGree cucumbers, and our peppers are called Maranello, Margarethe and Redford. All these varieties are approved for organic farming and have shown themselves to be a big success when grown in our area. We employ two different farming methods in our outdoor vegetable beds. Firstly, we've got traditional vegetable fields, where we rely on the tractor for sowing, planting, chopping and harvesting due to the size of the areas. Then, thanks to my two motivated co-workers, Lea and Alina, we're embarking on a market gardening adventure this year. This is a compact vegetable garden in which we produce vegetables in a smaller area, using simple techniques and attaining a high area efficiency. This means dense stocks, and, therefore, fewer weeds, barely any working of the soil, and lots of small batches with smaller quantities and great variety for our CrowdFarmers. In our modern greenhouses, which we heat CO²-neutrally, we grow loads of different vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. We provide them with the best climate, and the best supply of nutrients thanks to our humus and compost-nourished soil, and we nurture and care for them every day. This is because fruits and vegetablesneed specific conditions to be able to grow and flourish so that you can later enjoy them. We've been working to try and make better use of the land by following the strict Bioland guidelines since 1993. And what started as a sideline back then is now a place where lots of like-minded people live and work. At bioLesker, we believe in sustainable use of the land, and we work daily towards a way of farming that is fit for our grandchildren to one day inherit. We just get on and do it! We give our very best efforts to cultivating vegetables sustainably, and then we market them in various ways. By making an adoption, you will not only get a box of delicious and fresh, substantial products from our fields, but will also become a part of our philosophy of how agriculture should work. work. We do our part so that you can receive food that is quite simply organic, honest and straightforward, and which comes direct from the farmer to your table. Your vegetable plot produces an average of 50kg of Bioland organic vegetables each season. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.
You can reserve between 4 and 10 boxes for the season, and then you can plan the delivery of your boxes for any of the delivery dates available in the shipment calendar. This way, they'll stay fresh for at least 1 week __Recipe ideas: __Be creative. As already written, good organic vegetables do not take much to pamper your palate. You probably know the classics, like tomato and cheese or a buttery spread on bread with onions on top. You can also do that with a cucumber. My nephew Alexander gobbles everything right up. Even the salt and pepper shakers have no chance of getting used. You can cut the romaine lettuce into strips and mix it with pieces of cucumber, tomato and pepper to make a really delicious summer salad. If you still have some feta in the fridge and some good virgin olive oil, you'll have everything you could possibly need. It barely gets simpler and more delicious than this. __Storage:__ Do not store the vegetables in a place where they can get too cold. Anything below 12–14 degrees Celsius is detrimental as it can diminish the flavour. If we at bioLesker have done things right, you can store your fruit vegetables in a spot that's not too warm (not above 18–20 degrees Celsius) for at least a week. But check on them daily and enjoy them in a perfectly ripe state. Weather and seasonal conditions – for example, a thunderstorm – can have a major impact on how long vegetables last.
Wanneer ontvang je het?
You can receive your delicious vegetable boxes between the 19th May and 13th October. So up to twelve in total. During this period, we're always sure to have all the vegetables available, and this is when they also taste best. Vegetables – like us – need the warming power of the sun. Everything is harvested seasonally after having time to mature on the plant, this way the produce simply tastes better.
