Adopt vines from our farm in Langenlonsheim (Germania). During the process of adoption you can choose a name that we will engrave on a plaque and hang on your vines. You will sponsor six vine stocks from the vineyard Rothenberg. The first vines were planted here in 1720. You need about six vine stocks (6 kg of grape harvest) to produce six bottles of our lovingly made wine. Our winery has been a family business for over 350 years. In Langenlonsheim we have the vineyard Rothenberg. Their soil type is red slate, which has baked into a porous rock due to volcanic activity with quartzite and porphyry. The upper part of the red rock creates a loose, mineral, easily heatable soil. Our wines, which grow on this steep vineyard, are solid, mineral and racy wines with a nice minerality and elegant fruit. All of our wines are vegan. 90% of our grapes are harvested by hand. As a result, the quality of the harvested grapes is so high that we don’t need animal products when filtering and in the whole producing process. Our wines are bottled according to German wine law: All the grapes come from our own vineyards and expanded vegan by ourselves in our own cellar. This is transparency for our customers - “100 % Schweinhardt”. We are committed to nature conservation. It is important to us that future generations can live healthy lives in harmony with nature. Ms. Ulrike Höfken, Minister for the Environment, Agriculture, Food, Viticulture and Forestry, distinguished us in 2014 on behalf of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as a “partner company for nature conservation”. We do not use pesticides or insecticides in viticulture. This means that rare plants and animals, such as smooth snakes, orchids and rare butterflies, like for example *Aricia agestis*, can once again be at home in our vineyards. The vineyard Rothenberg has existed since 1720. Due to the land consolidation in the 1920s, larger plots were created and since then this location has been a prime vineyard for Rieslings on the Nahe. The productive life of vines is around 50 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your vines die, we will replace them with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from others.
Each season we will send you a box with: 1 x __Riesling “Rothenberg Terrasse”__, 2020, dry (0.75l, bottle) 2 x __Riesling “Rothenberg”__, 2021, dry (0.75l, bottle) 1 x __Pinot Noir “Rothenberg”__, 2018, dry (0.75l, bottle) 2 x __Riesling “Rothenberg Spätlese”__, 2021, sweet (0.75l, bottle) We will send you the wine from the current bottling. The Pinot Noir may also have been allowed to mature for longer. Depending on the taste, these wines are left to mature in large wooden barrels for 12-24 months (Barrique barrels) With these wines you will go on a journey back in time. Volcanoes were active in our region 40 million years ago. You will find the fire and the mineral in the character of our wines, which grow on the steep slopes of Rothenberg. The terrace wine is the queen of our Rieslings, a special selection of an old steep vineyard; it has fine fruit aromas in combination with excellent minerality. The Riesling “Terrasse” can also ripen and be drank as a solitary wine after many years. The Riesling “Rothenberg” shows the same basic character and convinces with fruit aromas that are reminiscent of apricot and passion fruit. A beautifully balanced acidity stimulates the palate. The Riesling Spätlese “Rothenberg” goes well with sushi or spicy grilled dishes. Last but not least the Pinot Noir “Rothenberg”, a wine which has a strong body, its own fullness and a long reverberation. All wines from this master box are allowed to mature and promise to be greatly enjoyable. We recommend enjoying the Rieslings at 10-12°C, the Pinot Noir at 16°C. Our wines have a screw cap. Wine should be stored in a cool and dark place. Under these conditions, you can still enjoy our wines in seven to ten years.
