Adopt a cow of Philippe's flock in Bardos (Francia) and receive your harvest in the form of fresh dairy products Ibaski at home. The Farmer Hubert will take care of your adoption and take its picture. Also, you will be able to download the adoption certificate and, if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. As the production coming from one cow is big, the adoption is shared among various people. If you wish to have a bigger share, you may adopt more than once. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you receive your harvest and you enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
Adopt a cow from Philippe's farm in Bardos (Francia). Our fresh artisan products are made in the dairy factory Laiterie Bastidarra in the Basque Country with the milk we collect every morning. Our cow's milk producer, Philippe, has a herd of the Prim Holstein breed specialized in dairy. This breed is very well known for its milk. It originated from Northern Europe and spreaded to France in the 20th century. Philippe has obtained the High Environmental Value label level 3 in 2015 and is starting a Happy Farmer certification (evaluation of animal and farmer welfare) this year. The cows graze most of the year and are fed with the farm's crops. Philippe is 93% self-sufficient in feeding his herd. The productive life of a cow is around 20 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your cow dies, we will replace it with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from other cows. Afterwards, they are then turned into meat products. As for the calves, they are sold. A cow from our farm produces 25 liters of milk per day. It is the equivalent of 78 000 yoghurts produced per year. You do not have to commit to the consumption of the whole harvest. Each season you may decide what quantity to reserve and pay the maintenance in accordance with the amount you reserve. This way you will only pay for what you consume and we can plan and sell the remaining harvest amount from your cow to others. Each cow is adopted by 500 CrowdFarmers who will each receive boxes of 24 yoghurts and cream cheeses several times during the season (between November and June).
During harvest season you can progressively receive the quantity of harvest that you reserve on the moment of adoption. The box you will receive will contains : 8 x __plain cow's milk pasteurized yoghurts__ ( 125g/cardboard tub) 8 x __pasteurized cow's milk yoghurts flavoured__ with natural Bourbon vanilla extract from Madagascar (125g/cardboard tub) 8 x __plain cow's milk cream cheese__ (100g/cardboard tub) All our products are sold under the Ibaski brand and are made with pasteurized whole milk collected the same morning as the elaboration of the product. Whole milk allows to keep the product at its most natural state with all its cream. It is not homogenized, so the cream layer of the milk stays on top of the tub and doesn’t mix with the product. Our products are therefore very creamy. It is not standardized either. The cream content varies slightly according to the season, to the animals, and to how rich their pasture is. We do not wish to intervene to smooth this fat content but prefer to let nature do its work to offer you a natural product! It is recommended to store our Ibaski dairy products in the refrigerator between 1 and 5 °C. Our yoghurts can be stored for up to 30 days after the date of manufacture and the best before date will be written on the lid of the tub.
