Adopt 10m² of a vegetable plot from "La Oizéenne" in Oizé (Francia) and receive your organic spring vegetables at home. Pierre will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.

Cosa adotti?

You adopt 10m² of a vegetable plot from our farm in Oizé (Francia). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union since 2021. We have several varieties of spring vegetables: new potatoes, beetroots, and purple and green kohlrabi. These varieties will let you rediscover the flavours of vegetables you may have eaten when you were little! These vegetables are annual varieties. The plot where they are grown today had lain fallow for about ten years. The soil has completely regenerated and we certified this plot for organic farming in 2021. We germinate Sirtema new potatoes a month before planting them at the end of January. The new potato is not a variety but a potato that is harvested before it reaches maturity. We therefore harvest it in April/May, 120 days after planting. We sow Chioggia beetroot seeds in February on previously tilled land. The vegetables are harvested 115 days after sowing. Kohlrabi, an heirloom vegetable, is sown in March. We add compost to provide it with the nutrients it needs to develop, then 75 days later we harvest it. We keep the plot free from weeds using two techniques: mechanical hoeing with a tool or hoeing by hand. Each plant produces its vegetable and then dies. Your vegetable plot produces an average of 6kg of organic spring vegetables each season.

Che cosa ricevi?

Each season we will send you a box with: 1 x__ Sirtema new potatoes__ (between 1.5 and 2kg) 1 x __Chioggia beetroots__ (between 1.5 and 2kg) 1 x __Green and purple Kohlrabi__ (3 pieces) You will receive 6kg of organic mixed vegetables to let you discover the flavours of each organic variety we grow. __Organic new potatoes__: the first variety of potato consumed in the year. It is enjoyed for its melt-in-the-mouth flesh and softness and slightly sweet taste. It can be eaten in salads, baked, browned with garlic and parsley. __Organic beetroot__: a root vegetable with a round shape and a purple colour. It has a very mild, slightly sweet taste when raw, and goes very well grated in salads with other vegetables. Once cooked, its taste can be more pronounced and lead to more creative recipes in the kitchen: beetroot purée, beetroot and apple soup... Something to add flavour and colour to your dishes! __Organic green and purple Kohlrabi__: kohlrabi is an heirloom variety of cabbage. It is recognisable by its bulbous shape, white or slightly green/purple colour and smaller size than other cabbages. It is enjoyed for its taste tinged with notes of hazelnut. It can be eaten raw in a salad or cooked in a pan, gratin, soup, mashed, braised. These vegetables should be stored differently according to the variety: new potatoes in the fridge drawer for 5 to 7 days, beetroot wrapped in newspaper in a cellar or in a kraft bag in the fridge for several weeks, kohlrabi in a dark cellar or the fridge drawer for several weeks.

Quando lo ricevi?

The vegetables are sown between January and March for a harvest in late April/early May. You will receive your spring vegetables between May and June.
