You adopt a pistachio tree from our farm in Zamora (Spagna). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union as of 2019. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your albero di pistacchio. The "Lost Hills" and "Kerman" varieties of pistachio trees are widely recognized by the size of their fruits, their intense flavour and the whiteness of their shell. The Doña Amor farm was cultivated in two phases. In the first, in 2015, we planted two-year-old trees that were already grafted, while the second planting took place in the summer of 2016 and the trees were grafted in the field. The pistachio, or *Pistacia Vera*, is a very long-lived tree (one hundred to three hundred years), reaching maximum production in the first fifty years. The origin of the pistachio tree is located between Western Asia and Asia Minor. It’s a crop that dates back to ancient times, as it was known to the Egyptians, the Greeks and the Romans. In the first century, it was introduced into Italy from Syria and its cultivation later spread to the other countries in the Mediterranean Basin. At Doña Amor we grow grafts of the Kerman and Lost Hills varieties. The Kerman variety produces a large nut with an excellent quality, good yield and easy detachment from the tree during harvest. Meanwhile, the Lost Hills variety has a similar yield to the Kerman, producing a large, rounded pistachio with a very white shell, with harvest taking place roughly ten days before the Kerman. The productive life of a pistachio tree is around 50 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your albero di pistacchio dies, we will replace it with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from others. Il tuo albero di pistacchio produce una media di 25kg di originalProduction per ogni stagione. Con questa quantità possiamo produrre circa 1.2 kg di organic pistachios paste and organic roasted pistachios.
