Adopt a table grape vine from the farm "Casa Carlos" in Valencia (Spagna) and receive your harvest in the form of organic table grapes at home. The Farmer Ernesto will take care of your adoption and take its picture. Also, you will be able to download the adoption certificate and, if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you receive your harvest and you enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.

Cosa adotti?

You adopt a table grape vine. We have been doing organic farming since April 2016 and since 2019 with the BIO label. We incorporated the knowledge of biodynamic agriculture in October 2018 and hope to obtain the DEMETER label for the 2021 harvest. During the process of adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your table grape vine. The history of red seedless grapes is quite recent. They started to be cultivated in California around 25 years ago when by a selective cross-breeding of varieties, they got a red seedless grape with smooth, crispy skin. We decided to grow this grape for the convenience of it being seedless and for its great sweetness. Grape cultivation is one of the most complex because of the number of diseases that threaten it (mildew and oidium, among others) and because it also requires a lot of labour at certain times during cultivation. The vines are grown in vine arbours: a metal structure that we use to support the vines. We guide the vertical growth of the stem up to about 2 meters high where we facilitate branching by means of pruning. In this way we ensure that the bunches are both ventilated and protected from excessive sunlight thanks to the leaves. We also use an anti-hail netting system that protects the crop from hail, which could ruin the harvest. The productive life of a table grape vine is around 25 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your table grape vine dies, we will replace it with no additional cost and assuring the delivery of your harvest from others. Each table grape vine bears an average of 8kg per season.

Che cosa ricevi?

Each season we will send you a box with: __5 kg of grapes__ (distributed in five paper bags with bunches of different weight) We have two varieties: * Sweet Celebration: bright red berries, seedless, big, round, crispy and with a very smooth skin, very sweet (with an average of 20º Brix) * Jack's Salute: red, seedless, slightly oval, crisp and very smooth skin * Grapes ripen on the vines until they have the right colour, size and sweetness * We harvest the fruit in the morning and ship them in a plastic-free packaging on the same day * We cultivate them without pesticides, waxes or post-harvest treatments * You can see the freshness of the grape because the rachis still looks green when you receive it at home For better preservation we recommend you to keep them in the fridge; they will stay in perfect condition for about two weeks.

Quando lo ricevi?

You may select the delivery date of your box as suggested by the Farmer at check-out. We harvest our red seedless grapes from August until September: * Sweet Celebration: We harvest this variety from mid-August to mid-September. * Jack's Salute: harvested from early September to early October.
