Adopt a hops plant from the farm "Brasserie des Trois Becs" in Gigors et Lozeron (Francia) and receive your organic beer at home. Emmanuel will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. As the production coming from one hops plant is big, the adoption is shared among various people. If you wish to have a bigger share, you may adopt more than once. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you have received your organic beer and enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
Adopt a hops plant that we cultivate under the Organic Farming regulations of the European Union since 2015. We suggest that you adopt one of our precious hops plants which grow a few meters from the brewery. We have been working experimentally for several years to obtain quality beer from our raw materials. Hops are perennial, climbing and dioecious herbaceous plants. Brewers are looking for lupulin, a resin secreted into cones by unfertilized female plants. It is this lupulin that gives the beer its flavour, its bitterness and even its preservative properties. We therefore only cultivate female hop plants along metal cables that go up to the sky. The harvest takes place once a year, between August and September. As for the amount used when brewing, it always depends on each brewer's recipe. However, we use an average of two grams of hops per liter of beer. With one hops plant, we can fill around 260 75cl bottles. We cultivate the following two varieties: Cascade, a variety coming from the United States, which presents floral and citrus notes, as well as a German variety: Hallertau Hersbrucker, which has a spicy, floral aromatic profile with herbal notes. We are also in the process of developing a so-called “terroir” variety by crossing varieties for several years. What is the aim? To obtain healthy roots that are resistant to pedo-climatic conditions while favouring the expression of the terroir in the aromas of our beers. FYI, our beers are made out of four raw materials only! Spring water from the Vercors Natural Park, barley malt produced on our farm, hops partially produced on our farm and, finally, yeasts. Some recipes, however, require a few additions of cane sugar and nettle, of course! That's it! Regarding the processing stages, here's how it works: __Malting__: This is the process of reproducing, in a controlled way, the natural development of barley, in order to release the enzymes which are necessary for the production of beer. It consists of 4 phases: soaking, germination, kilning and degerming. At the “Brasserie des 3 Becs”, we produce the 100% organic barley ourselves. It is then transformed into malt by a local partner. __Brewing__: This is the step at the heart of the brewing profession, the one that gives a beer its own identity. It is made up of 5 stages: * Crushing: the malt grains are ground using a crusher * Mashing: mixing water at high temperature with crushed malt * Filtration: obtaining wort * Boiling: adding the hops to the boiling wort, then sterilizing * Cooling: a quick process, thanks to the plate heat exchanger * Fermentation: After cooling, the wort is mixed with yeast. Fermentation in the tanks lasts 15 days * Bottling at last! Before it's delivered to you, of course Your hops plant produces an average of 1kg of hops each season. With this amount we can produce around 495l of organic beer. 40 CrowdFarmers share an adoption who receive a box with 3.96l of organic beer.
Each season we will send you a box with: 3 x__ “Ambrées” (Vol Alc 6.5%) __(33cl bottle): A golden amber colour, slightly coppery, soft and with a short lasting taste in the mouth. Let yourself be carried away by a fruity note. 3 x __“Rousses” (Vol Alc 9%)__ (33cl bottle): A thicker, glowing colour with orange nuances, fine bubbles, a more generous texture, a soft, caramelized first impression, long lasting aromas in the back of the palate. 3 x __“Ortie”(Vol Alc 6.5%)__ (nettle) (33cl bottle): A similar colour to that of the “Ambrée”, slightly clearer! A first herbaceous and vegetal mouthfeel that ends with a dry, mineral texture with thirst-quenching effects. 3 x __La Triple (Vol Alc 9%)__ (33cl bottle): Ochre / golden coloured, powerful, sweet and round on the palate. Each bottle has a shelf life of 1 year. We suggest you keep them upright, away from light.

The barley is harvested in June/July and the hops between August and September! Of course, we have the possibility to stock up to be able to brew all year long! The shipping periods will be in spring, summer and winter. For each shipment, you will receive the same basic beers that we produce all year round, namely “Ambrées”, “Rousses”, “Ortie” and “Triple”.
