Adopt 60m² of a vegetable plot of Navarra from "BioTrailla" in Buñuel (Spagna) and receive your seasonal organic vegetables at home. Carlos will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.

Cosa adotti?

You adopt 60m² of a vegetable plot of Navarra from our farm in Buñuel (Spagna). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union as of 2010. Your adoption will include a small selection of each of the eighty-plus crops that we grow on our 120-hectare farm, including from our henhouse, making this a 100% circular agriculture project. In short, you'll be part of a project based around ecology, crop rotation and circular economy. We grow a whole host of vegetables, cereals, legumes, flowers, aromatic herbs and fruits, while we also have some animals that contribute to responsible food production focused on the care and regeneration of our soils and ecosystem. We rotate groups of plants with similar nutritional needs annually or bi-annually, leaving three to four years between the repetition of each group so that the soil doesn't erode and always maintains its nutritional balance. The first group of vegetables are the most nutritionally demanding, mainly Solanaceae (aubergine, tomato, pepper, etc.) along with some Cucurbits (courgette, pumpkin, melon, etc.) and Cruciferous (cabbage, chard, kale, etc.). The following year, we plant our second crop group on the same land. This group restores the soil and includes nitrogen-fixing (a nutrient with a very high uptake among the first group) legumes (chickpeas, lentils, peas, beans, etc.). Finally, with the soil regenerated by legumes, we grow less demanding vegetables such as Liliaceae (garlic, onions, leeks, asparagus) or Umbelliferae (celery, parsnips, fennel, parsley, etc.), and so the soil regeneration continues. The third group can optionally be followed by one year of fallow (no cultivation). In addition to rotation, we perform crop association by combining plants that benefit mutually from growing side by side. This fosters biodiversity on our farm and reduces the impact of monoculture on the soil. Finally, to close the circle and generate no waste, we make our own compost from our chicken manure, vegetable remains, inedible vegetables and sheep manure from a shepherd we know. It's very important to realise that the farm can't be planned on an Excel, as every year is different and our strategy might also change. Every year, we learn something new that we want to apply to our land, so as farmers we're always inquisitive, sensitive, creative, intuitive and innovative. We've created a farm that respects the environment and all the living beings that make up our ecosystem. We use our brand Bio Trailla to sell all the products we grow. Each vegetable plot produces an average of 6kg of seasonal organic vegetables per season.
