You adopt an apple tree from our farm in Meckenbeuren (Allemagne). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union as of 2019. We completed the certification process for the Bioland label in autumn 2020. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your apple tree. Adopt an apple tree from the first biocyclic-vegan certified farm in Germany. Biocyclic-vegan cultivation is a relatively new global organic certification that shares the advantages of classic organic agriculture but taking it one step further. By avoiding animal husbandry and inputs of animal origin, such as fertilizer, the entire production cycle is vegan. Bicyclic-vegan farming ensures soil fertility on the farm through the generous use of vegetable compost, mulching and green manure. The farm has been certified according to the Biocyclic-Vegan Guidelines since 2019. The farm has also been certified according to the Bioland Guidelines for almost 20 years. We are particularly proud of the award "Successful Example of Agriculture for More Biodiversity" from the Federal Ministry for the Environment and Nature Conservation. The apple tree is a pome fruit plant* (Pyrinae)* from the rose family *(Rosaceae)*. The deciduous trees and shrubs originate from forests and thickets of the northern temperate zone in Europe, Asia and North America. There are about 42 to 55 different species of the wild form. By far the best known and economically most important species worldwide is the cultivated apple* (Malus domestica)*, from which countless different varieties have developed during the course of its domestication. You adopt an apple tree of one of the four varieties that we all grow on my farm according to the organic-vegan guidelines. These varieties, which we use to make apple juice, include: __Topaz, Rubinette, Fuji__ or__ Santana__. The__ Topaz__ variety was bred in 1984 in what was then Czechoslovakia as a winter apple. The Topaz is juicy and slightly sweet-sour. It is a firm apple with a slightly waxy surface. The variety __Rubinette__ was bred between 1966 and 1982 in nearby Switzerland and is a cross between Golden Delicious and Cox Orange. Rubinette is a variety suitable for allergy sufferers. As the name suggests, the __Fuji __variety originally comes from Japan and was bred there as early as 1939. Fuji is a popular variety that tastes very sweet and has only little acidity. The __Santana__ variety comes from the Netherlands. Santana has also been around since 1996 and is also suitable for allergy sufferers. Your adoption is 4 years old and its maximum lifespan is 20 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Your adoption produces an average of 20kg of organic apple each season. With this amount we can produce around 12l of organic apple juice.
Each season we will send you a box with: 12 x __organic-vegan naturally cloudy apple juice__ (1l each, disposable glass bottle) Your apple juice isn't necessarily made from the apples from your exact tree, of course, because that would be very costly to guarantee. The apple juice is pressed from a composition of several apple varieties, which I put together. The mixture consists of Jonagold, Braeburn, Topaz, Natyra, Greenstar and Rubinette. Some of the apples come from my neighbouring farmers Stefan Geiger and Nikolaus Glocker, who are also certified organic-vegan. We only harvest the apples when they are fully ripe and then bring them to the juicer after a short interim storage period in order to press and bottle our apple juice. We only use specially sorted apples in our juice so that no rotten apples get into the juice. This ensures that our juice is very aromatic and has no off-flavours, which is why it is also very good to enjoy warm in winter. The mixture of varieties results in an aromatic and refreshing naturally cloudy apple juice with a balanced sugar-acid ratio and fully ripe fragrant aroma. The juice is best stored in a dark and cool place, so it will keep for two years. Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within 5 days. The juice is bottled in 1 litre glass deposit bottles, which can be returned anywhere in Germany via the normal bottle deposit.
