You adopt 3 vines from our farm in Orange (Francia). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union since 2011. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your vines. The Grenache has been widely developed all around the Mediterranean basin. It grows well in all types of soils and its excellent heat resistance has made it the star grape variety of the southern Côtes du Rhône appellation. Present in most of our blends, it gives red wines full-bodiedness and character, as well as a vast aromatic palette of red and black berries. The grapes are harvested during the month of September and vinified, plot by plot, in our cellars. We cultivate 15.5 hectares of Châteauneuf du Pape organically. Located at the northern tip of the Châteauneuf du Pape AOC (Appellation d'origine contrôlée, translating to Controlled Designation of Origin), the place called 'Les Origines' produces each vintage among the most emblematic of the vineyard and the appellation's blends. The Grenache vines are sometimes pruned with rope trellising or without wires, in a type of 'goblet-shaped' vine like a small shrub. To be of high quality, we estimate that you should never exceed 9-10 bunches of grapes per vine or just under 38 hectolitres per hectare. Our wines often receive acknowledgements from the International press (Parker, Dunnuck, Decanter, etc.) and the Hachette Wine Guide. Your adoption is 45 years old and its productive life is 85 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops being able to produce for any reason, we will replace it with an other, and we guarantee your delivery from the produce of others for that season. Your vines produce an average of 4kg of organic grapes each season. With this amount we can produce around 2.25l of organic red wine Les Origines AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Each season we will send you a box with: 3 x__ Organic red wine Les Origines 2020 AOC Châteauneuf du Pape__ (0.75 l, bottle) Composed of approximately 50% Grenache noir, 35% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah, the blend reveals a great aromatic intensity of black fruits and kirsch, mixed with fine herbs and garrigue notes. The finish is very persistent, with an unusual sense of saltiness and length. Open the bottle 2 hours before serving for aeration and serve at a temperature of 16°C. The Grenache is aged here for 16 months in concrete vats, while the Syrah and Mourvèdre are aged in barrels aged 1 to 2 years. When young, this wine will match brilliantly with a braised rib of beef, after 3-4 years of ageing it will be a perfect match with stews. Corking with a purified cork stopper guarantees perfect aromatic expression and good conservation. The ageing potential is guaranteed for 25 to 30 years. It is recognised year after year by the greatest international journalists, and the 2019 vintage was rated 94-96+/100 by Jeb Dunnuck. To obtain the technical data and the detailed results of the official tasting done by professional wine tasters in collaboration with CrowdFarming of this wine you can download the technical data sheet that you can find in the "Additional analyses" section. Given that the wines are analysed as they are bottled, bear in mind that the technical data sheet may correspond to the vintage of the previous year and not to the wine you will receive.
¿Cuándo lo recibes?
The grape harvest starts in September with the earliest varieties, often young plots of Syrah and Grenache. The older vines quickly reach maturity and then the Mourvèdre skins take on their intense black colour around the beginning of October. The shipment of the boxes is planned for the beginning of December.
