Adopt an apricot tree from the farm "Azienda Agricola San Mauro" in Corigliano Calabro (Italia) and receive your Demeter organic apricots at home. Anita will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.

¿Qué adoptas?

You adopt an apricot tree from our farm in Corigliano Calabro (Italia). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union as of 1992. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your apricot tree. The apricot tree is a tree native to China. The Romans introduced it to Italy in the 1st century BC, but cultivation only began to spread later thanks to the Arabs. It is a plant that needs warm, temperate and fairly dry climates. In our company, the form of planting we use is the Y-shape in more modern plants and the traditional pot in larger ones. The Y-shape is so-called because the plant has a main trunk from which, about 30 centimetres above the ground, two branches start off in opposite directions, forming precisely the shape of a Y. This type of planting facilitates work in the field (pruning and harvesting) but also helps in the prevention of fungal diseases and helps the colouring of the fruit, because the sunlight is able to penetrate the leaves better. One of the varieties we have is the Orange Rubis. Native to France, from the Lyon area, it is quite late in flowering but has average ripeness. Your adoption is 7 years old and its maximum lifespan is 15 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Your apricot tree produces an average of 19kg of Demeter organic apricots each season. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.
