¿Qué adoptas?

You adopt a plum tree from our farm in Corigliano Calabro (Italia). The cultivation here has been certified as organic by the European Union as of 1992. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your plum tree. Plums belong to the *Prunus domestica* family and originated in Asia. They were introduced to the Mediterranean area by the Romans. The Stanley variety, specifically, was created in the United States, in California, in the early 1900s. The characteristic of this variety is that it is self-fertile, i.e. it does not need pollinator varieties. It adapts very well to various types of soil and is resistant to cold. It is a tree with a spherical shape, high productivity and can reach 2 metres in height. Compared to other fruit trees, the plum is characterised by the fact that it flowers even before the leaves appear. In spring it blooms with white or pink blossoms, which start directly from the branches and later give way to bright green leaves. Your adoption is 7 years old and its maximum lifespan is 15 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Your plum tree produces an average of 9.5kg of organic plums each season. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.
