Adopt vines from the farm "Hause Kaltenthaler GbR" in Worms (Germany) and receive your harvest in the form of organic mixed wines PDO Rheinhessen at home. The Farmer Jan will take care of your adoption and take its picture. Also, you will be able to download the adoption certificate and, if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you receive your harvest and you enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
You adopt vines from our farm in Worms (Germany). Cultivation certified organic by the European Union since 2007. During the process of adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your vines. We invite you to adopt a group of 6 organically farmed vine stocks from our winery, which we take great care of according to the guidelines of organic farming. The vine stocks are especially grown for the wine production and thereby produce a higher quality of grapes compared to the ones you can buy at a supermarket. You are going to adopt Pinot Noir vine stocks, but you will also receive wines from their neighbour stocks, the Pinot Gris grapes. Pinot Noir, as suggested by its name, is a red grape variety, which is often referred to as "Spätburgunder". Like Pinot Gris, it is one of the so-called Burgundy grape varieties. It is particularly interesting that the Pinot Noir is directly related to the Pinot Gris through a natural mutation. Therefore, it is considered the "forefather" of all Burgundy grape varieties. Overall, the wines in this package are some of the most consumed wines in the world. We also cultivate well-known grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and even particularly fungi-resistant grape varieties such as Regent or Gelber Muskateller on our winery. Our family has planted all the vine stocks. The oldest vine stocks were planted by hand by my grandfather and we have been in charge for 3 generations. Vine stocks can grow up to 50 years and older. Some even outlive a human being. We cultivate 3.8 ha on our winery and the vines are on average 12 years old. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your adoption dies, we will replace it with no additional cost assuring the delivery of your harvest from others. To stay with the numbers: You can harvest around 1kg of grapes from one vine stock. This corresponds almost exactly to a bottle of wine.
Each season we will send you a box with: 2 x __Pinot Noir, organic red wine 2021 PDO Rheinhessen__ (0.75 l bottle) 2 x __Spätburgunder, organic rosé wine 2021 PDO Rheinhessen__ (0.75 l bottle) 2 x __Pinot gris, organic white wine 2021 PDO Rheinhessen__ (0.75 l bottle) As a thank you for your adoption, we will send you an organically farmed box of Burgundy wine, from the grapes harvested the year before. The wines will come in a glass bottles with a screw cap. The __Pinot Noir__ is a red wine that is also known as "Spätburgunder". For a slightly fruity red wine, it typically goes well with one or two bars of chocolate - but be careful: when paired with chocolate, the wine quickly disappears from the glass – almost in seconds. Those who are already thirsty are welcome to drink the red wine pure. A storage of up to 4 years is not a problem. Up next is the __Spätburgunder__ as Rosé. To give you some details, this is a rosé wine made from red grapes. The fruits are simply processed like white wine, whereby the wine only gets a light rosé tone. It tastes great with pork & poultry. Due to the special processing method, it is extremely exciting to taste the wine pure in a big glass. The range of aromas goes from raspberries to strawberries to lime peel. Nice, fresh and balanced. Our motto remains the same: the wine should be fun & can be enjoyed straight away. However, it also tolerates storage for around 2-3 years very well. The dry __Pinot Gris__ is the last one in the box. This white wine is one of the most commonly drunk wines around the world. Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio, Grauburgunder - 3 names, the grape variety is always the same. It impresses with a mild acidity and ripe fruit. Perfect for a glass on the balcony in the sun. In our opinion: The fresher the better. We work completely without additives of preservation, sweeteners and thickeners, and without animal products. For wine, we generally recommend to drink it within 4-6 days after opening. After this time, it can lose its aroma and become sour.
When will you receive it?
You may select the delivery date of your box as suggested by the Farmer at check-out. The grapes are harvested between September and October depending on their perfect ripeness. Then, we carefully process them into wine. The bottling takes place around March/April of the following year. Some days later we can finally ship the wine to your place.
