Adopt an apple tree from the "Obsthof Rönn" farm in Meckenheim (Germany) and receive your naturally cloudy Bioland organic apple juice at home. Michael will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.
You adopt an apple tree from our farm in Meckenheim (Germany). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union, and follows the Bioland guidelines as of 2019. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your apple tree. The apples grow in our orchard, which we planted in 2016, and which is our favourite place for taking a walk. We grow 13 different apple varieties there: Santana, Elstar, Gala, Cox Orange, Boskoop, Sonnenglanz, Wellant, Jonagold, Topaz, Pinova, Braeburn, Natyra and Fuji. These are all different versions of the same fruit: the apple. This small selection of the variety of our current apple varieties shows how important the apple has been to us as a fruit for a long time. How it made its way to Germany is not exactly clear. What is certain is that it set out on its way to us several thousand years ago along human trade routes from Asia (possibly from Kazakhstan). Today's cultivated apple is a deciduous tree that can grow to a height of 8 - 15m and forms a protruding crown. In winter, it loses its leaves and reawakens from hibernation in spring with shoots of leaves and beautiful apple blossom. It is, by the way, part of the rose family. We keep an eye on our trees all year round. They must be cut back and cared for, pruned and watered when needed. Your adoption is 7 years old and its maximum lifespan is 25 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Sustainable cultivation is particularly important to us in our work. In 2019, we were even awarded the Ludwig Company Award in the Sustainability category. Your adoption produces an average of 26kg of Bioland organic apples each season. With this amount we can produce around 20l of naturally cloudy Bioland organic apple juice. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.
During the season, you will be able to receive the harvest that you are reserving now: a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 boxes. Once you have paid for the adoption, you will be able to plan your shipments from your user account. Shipping format: 6 x __naturally cloudy Bioland organic apple juice__ (0.72l, glass bottle) Our naturally cloudy organic apple juice is like a special wine a Cuvee from different apple varieties. We want a juice that is not too sweet and not too sour. Therefore, we are always careful to balance the mix of individual varieties: mainly Elstar, Boskoop, Jonagold, Topaz, Gala and Braeburn. This gives the juice a fresh taste that will remind you of the freshly squeezed juice of your childhood. The apples are picked ripe and we store them until all varieties have been harvested. Only then do they go to a colleague's fruit juice plant, where the apples are washed, gently pressed and the juice is bottled. Our juice is not filtered or clarified and thus is naturally cloudy. However, due to the high quality of the apples, the varietal composition and the filling process, it often looks almost clear. To preserve the quality, the juice should not be stored above room temperature or below zero. After opening, please keep the bottle in the refrigerator and drink it within the next two days.
When will you receive it?
We harvest our apples from mid-July to mid-November. We pick each variety several times in order to always harvest optimally ripe fruit. The juice is then made from November, and also stored at our warehouse, so that we can send you apple juice almost the whole year round.
