Adopt aronia bushes from the farm "Nachhaltige Vielfalt" in Vorau (Austria) and receive your organic aronia juice at home. Regina will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: once you have received your organic aronia juice and enjoyed the experience, you may decide to renew and extend the adoption.
You adopt aronia bushes from our farm in Vorau (Austria). The cultivation here is certified as organic by the European Union since 2015. In addition to these, we have, of course, also developed our own guidelines and values over the years. For example, we make sure that we only use our own products from the closed-loop economy of our farm that then we bring out into the field (for example, for the composition of the soil or to provide the plants with nutrients). During the process of adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your aronia bushes. The aronia is a tough, rugged fellow: it is utterly undemanding in terms of soil and weather conditions, and is considered a pioneer species (the first to conquer fallow land). It also thrives at altitudes of 900–1000m above sea level and does not need any irrigation or extensive maintenance on our plantation – it just grows on the spot! Aronia has its historical origins with the peoples of the First Nations in Canada, and then, ultimately, found its way via Poland and Serbia to Austria. On our plantation, at the highest point on our land, the *Aronia melanocarpa* species bears its fruit every year in September (approx. 3.5kg of berries per bush). We then pick them together with our family and neighbours, and have the juice pressed and bottled. Ideally, the berries yield 70–80% juice. We are convinced that you can taste the uniqueness in our freshly pressed aronia juice as we choose the best possible harvest time: the small structures of our farm allow us to pay much more attention to harvesting, processing and production. We are able to visually inspect all our plants several times a week and walk through the small field. Harvesting by hand makes us independent of agricultural contractors with large harvesting machines, and so we determine the optimal harvest time ourselves. This way, a sustainably produced product is created exactly to our taste, and in the best quality. We receive countless awards and unique praise for our product and our farming philosophy from our customers. This feedback encourages us to continue to keep doing what we are doing and keep bringing our creations into the world. Your adoption is 7 years old and its productive life is around 20 years. For as long as you want to keep it and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew your adoption year after year. If your adoption dies, we will replace it with no additional cost assuring the delivery of your harvest from others. Your aronia bushes produce an average of 7kg of organic aronia berries each season. With this amount we can produce around 6l of organic aronia juice.
We will send you the box you have chosen in the adoption process. __Small aronia harvest:__ 3 x organic freshly pressed aronia juice (1l, glass bottle) __Large aronia harvest:__ 6 x organic freshly pressed aronia juice (1l, glass bottle) The juice, which is made from 100% pressed berries, impresses with its tart, earthy taste and dark, red-black colour, which is due to the high content of anthocyanins. We really like to enjoy it straight from the bottle, or diluted with tap or mineral water or in a fruit juice. It is recommended to drink approximately 100ml of the pure freshly pressed juice of the berries each day, either all at once or spread throughout the day. After all, the aronia berry is an absolute vitamin bomb. Once opened, the bottle can be stored in the refrigerator for a good 10 days. Due to heating to 60–75°C, it can also be stored for several years unopened. The taste of the juice changes over a prolonged period of time, similar to with red wine, and can thus develop an even more intense tart taste. It is best stored in a cool place, protected from light. You will receive your harvest personalized with the name you chose in the adoption process.
When will you receive it?
We pick the berries by hand in September, when the taste is sweetest and at its best, and we then ship from early winter.
