We are sending you the box you chose during the adoption process. (If you enjoyed the grapes you will be able to order a box with surplus harvest.) __Small box:__ Organic Red Globe grapes (2kg) __Large box:__ Organic Red Globe grapes (5kg) The Red Globe variety is a pink grape, the bunches are large, of medium compactness and large homogeneous berries with thick skin and fleshy pulp. Fruity flavour with few seeds. The berry can be detached from the bunch during the transport but it does not diminish its quality. Very colorful. Balance in sugar content and acidity. Sensitive to the sun, which is why it is bagged. It has the particular feature that the bunch is bagged, which means that it is protected with paper bags before it begins to ripen and until it is harvested for packaging. In addition to protecting it, it extends its shelf life in the field, guaranteeing a homogeneous ripening that gives it greater flavour and allows it to be served directly to the consumer without any additional preservation processes. Storing the grapes in the fridge you will be able to enjoy them during one week approximately. Do you like Autumn Royal grapes? Manuel Martínez Lledó
All my known ancestors were viticulturists. Two of my maternal great-great-grandparents were awarded for their wines at the 1888 Universal Exhibition in Barcelona, 130 years ago. My father, Manuel Martínez Botella, from Hondón de las Nieves, started growing table grapes in his village and in Aspe in the 1950s. In the seventies he moved to Pinoso and acquired the estate, probably the first to introduce this crop in the municipality. My father's second surname is the one that gives the name to the estate. I was born in Algueña, a municipality close to the farm. In this area the marble industry has played and continues to play a very important role in the industrial sector but it has had an enormous environmental impact by destroying a mountain that formed part of the Algueña landscape. In order to prevent the other emblematic mountain of my village from being destroyed, my family and I decided in 2004 to take ownership of it to guarantee the conservation of the Sierra de l'Algaiat. We have created the brand "Medi Natural" (Natural environment in Valencian) which has a vindictive meaning, and nostalgia for that natural environment and landscape destroyed by marble quarries. Today my children are also involved in agriculture: Jordi is in charge of the table grapes and Maria of the wine grapes. In this way, the family tradition of winegrowers continues, with a special concern for a healthy diet and the protection of the natural environment.
Manuel Martínez Lledó

"In the mature phase of my life in which I find myself, I look back and see the struggle of my ancestors to survive in a certain rural territory by exercising the profession of winegrowers, with the present danger of disappearing in the conditions in which they enjoyed that landscape and cultivated the land, and I rebel. By participating in Crowdfarming, I hope that others, even if they are far away, will participate in this rebellion, helping to maintain this model of artisanal and respectful production, and the rural milieu in which it takes place."

Finca de Botella
Finca de Botella
The Finca de Botella extends over an area of 6.5 hectares and is situated at an altitude of about 600 metres. It is totally accessible and close to a village, as it is 1.8 kilometres from the town of Pinoso, Alicante. Since 2005 we are certified in Ecological Agriculture. The measures against erosion have always been concerned and have consisted, since its acquisition, in the levelling of the terraces that make up the estate to avoid the loss of soil by surface runoff. The vines grow high and are supported by vine stalks, with a plantation frame of 3x2 meters, which brings together about 10,000 vines of table grapes. Our system is respectful of nature and the consumer, as, in accordance with European regulations on Organic Production, we do not use chemical fertilisers, herbicides or other chemical or synthetic products. We make a very efficient use of water, as we have installed a drip irrigation system. Our work in the field is very traditional and labour-intensive, as most of the work is carried out by people, with the greatest care, without the use of machinery.
