You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun

What do you adopt?

You adopt an aubergine field from our farm in Periana (Spain) that we cultivate following the Organic Farming regulations of the European Union. We are already in the process of converting and expect to be officially certified by 2025. When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your aubergine field. The aubergine is a plant that was first grown in tropical and subtropical areas of Asia. After the Middle Ages, it spread from Egypt to the Mediterranean and the rest of Europe. It has always been highly valued in Spain, which is where it was first used in the kitchen. It belongs to the *Solanaceae* family, which includes other plants such as potatoes, tomatoes and peppers. The aubergine is an herbaceous plant, with strong and deep roots, and stems that can reach two to three metres in height. The ideal season for the aubergine is summer, as it needs plenty of hours of daylight and can withstand extreme temperatures as long as it has enough moisture. In our case, we grow the plant outdoors if it's warm enough in the spring. The plant grows really fast as it's very productive and the temperatures in southern Spain are good for it, with the vegetable itself being large enough for harvesting in just a few weeks. We grow our vegetables on a traditional, diverse and ecologically rich farm. We do this according to organic farming guidelines to achieve quality products and protect our privileged natural environment. We also integrate vegetable crops into the ancient olive grove, thereby adding value to inland agriculture. Your aubergine field produces an average of 6kg of aubergines each season. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.

What will you receive?

You can reserve between 1 and 1 boxes for the season, and then progressively plan theit delivery for any of the delivery dates available in the shipment calendar. Shipping format: __2,5kg box of aubergines__ * Mulata (July-September): cylindrical-oblong shape; medium size; smooth skin; black to purple colour on the outside and white on the inside; mild and somewhat bitter taste (including the skin); firm-spongy pulp; small edible seeds * Field cropping * Farming in conversion to Organic Farming since 2022 * Harvest on request, shipped without wax or preservative treatments in a cardboard box without plastics * Our farm is not a screw factory: each fruit is unique in appearance and size * One kilo contains between 3 and 5 fruits * If you keep them in the fridge, they can last up to 10 days in good condition

When will you receive it?

The vegetable garden thrives in summer. With the warm weather these plants find their time of development, and you can consume them with the guarantee of knowing that they are seasonal products. Harvest begins in July and can last until September.
