Adopt a vegetable plot from the farm "El Bosque del Batán" in Periana (Spain) and receive your mixed vegetables at home. Ana will take care of your adoption and take its picture. You will also be able to download the adoption certificate, and if you wish, plan your visit to the farm. You do not enter into any long-term commitment: Although your adoption will be renewed automatically, you will always be informed in advance and may decide to cancel your adoption at any time as long as the preparation has not yet begun.
You adopt a vegetable plot from our farm in Periana (Spain) that we cultivate following the Organic Farming regulations of the European Union. We are already in the process of converting and expect to be officially certified by 2025. The pepper is a plant that originally comes from the northwestern part of South America and arrived in Europe thanks to Christopher Columbus. It first became popular in Spain, where in the sixteenth century it was already being widely used in kitchens. It belongs to the Solanacee family, which includes other plants such as potatoes and tomatoes. It's a perennial, herbaceous plant that is usually grown as an annual or a biennial crop. We started growing it this year and we'll plant it again in the next campaign, because the summer plants can't withstand the cold winters in our area. Our variety, the alicum, is part of the sweet pepper family, also known as the Italian pepper. The box also includes aubergines and courgettes. Aubergines are also from the Solanaceae family, while courgettes belong to the Cucurbit family, which are characterised by their climbing powers and include other popular products such as pumpkins, melons, cucumbers and watermelons. The ideal season for these three products is summer, as they need quite a few hours of daylight. In our case, we grow them outdoors when the springtime temperatures are right on our traditional, diverse and ecologically valuable farm. We do this according to organic farming guidelines to achieve quality products and protect our privileged natural environment. We also integrate vegetable crops into the ancient olive grove, thereby adding value to inland agriculture. Your vegetable plot produces an average of 6kg of mixed vegetables each season. You do not have to commit to ordering the entire harvest though. Each season you can decide how much you want to reserve, and you pay the maintenance cost according to that amount. This way you only pay for what you plan to consume, and we can offer any surplus harvest to others.
You can reserve between 0 and 0 boxes for the season, and then plan the deliveries for any of the delivery dates available in the shipment calendar.
