You adopt 3 vines from our farm in Cissac (France). When placing the adoption you can choose a name which we will use to identify your vines. You adopt 3 vines, each from a plot of vines on our historic property, Château Lamothe-Cissac. This adoption has the particularity of allowing you to discover three of our wines available on CrowdFarming. Château Lamothe-Cissac Vieilles Vignes: These vines were purchased by my grandfather when he acquired the property in the early 1960s when the estate's historic vineyard was abandoned. The vines are on average 60 years old, the oldest plot having been planted in 1949. These plots are planted at high density (between 9,000 and 10,000 vines per hectare). This means that each vine produces few clusters. A cluster of Cabernet Sauvignon weighs about 150 grams. But as the vines are old, each vine has about 6 clusters, which produces a little less than a bottle. Fabre de Nature: this plot was planted right in front of the Castle on 4 hectares in 2000. The grape variety of the plot is Cabernet Sauvignon, the main grape variety of the Médoc. It is particularly well adapted to our region, because it thrives in the gravelly soils. The Médoc, with its location between the Ocean and the Gironde estuary, has a soil that is mainly composed of gravel. Fabre On The Rocks: this plot was planted at 6,500 vines per hectare. The size of the vineyards on this plot of Malbec is typical of the size practiced in the Médoc, namely the Guyot which is double the size. It consists of keeping only two fruiting branches of year N, which will carry the buds (and therefore the future clusters) of year N+1. As this plot is young (we planted it in 2017), the yield per hectare from it is low. It is about 20 hectolitres per hectare. Thanks to our temperate climate and our location between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary, our vineyards do not need to be irrigated. The average annual rainfall is 850 mm, which is sufficient for the cultivation of the vine. Your adoption is 29 years old and its maximum lifespan is 70 years. For as long as you want to keep your adoption, and we can continue taking care of it, you can renew year after year. If your adoption stops producing for any reason, we will replace it with another, and guarantee you the delivery from the production of other units. Your adoption produces an average of 3kg of grapes each season. With this amount we can produce around 2.25l of assortment of red wines from Bordeaux.
Each season we will send you a box with: 1 X __Château Lamothe-Cissac Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Wine 2017__ (0.75l, bottle) 1 X__ Fabre de Nature Cuvée Wine AOC Haut-Médoc 2020__ (0.75l, bottle) 1 X __Malbec Fabre On The Rocks AOC Haut-Médoc Red Wine 2020__ (0.75l, bottle) __Château Lamothe-Cissac's Vieilles Vignes cuvée__ can be considered as the model and characteristic wine of the Médoc region. It is very marked by Cabernet Sauvignon, the king grape of the region. Young, Château Lamothe-Cissac Vieilles Vignes has a deep purple colour. Great aromatic complexity with a nice balance between the richness of the fruit and the wood. On the nose, you will notice aromas of cloves, spices and tobacco. It corresponds to a great wine for aging, generous and powerful, possessing a lot of elegance. The wine has been sealed with a natural cork, which will allow it to age very well over time, during which time it will develop and gain in roundness. The winemaking is very traditional on this cuvée: careful sorting of the harvest on arrival in the vat, maceration for 3 to 4 weeks then blending between the different grape varieties and finally aging in French oak barrels for 14 months. This cuvée can be kept for 25 years. __Fabre de Nature __is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine without added sulphites. The colour of the wine is very dark and the nose is very aromatic. We get notes of ripe red fruit and spices. They are characteristic of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is full-bodied, round, almost melting. It can accompany an aperitif, a plate of charcuterie or a light dish. To be enjoyed now! The wine was vinified in a very delicate and precise way because sulphites were not added, and so it was necessary to avoid oxidation with the outside air at all costs. The remontage stages (tasks aimed at extracting colour and tannins) have been reduced compared to conventional cuvées and those of a shorter duration. The wine was sealed with a cork whose porosity is very low. The risk of oxidation is therefore non-existent. It is to be enjoyed by the end of 2023. And finally, our 100% __Malbec micro cuvée, Fabre on the Rocks__, is a wine with a modern style. The colour is purple with deep reflections; on the nose, you will find notes of red fruits, violet and plum. And on the palate, this wine will surprise you with its beautiful freshness with spicy notes typical of this grape variety with aromas of black fruit. The wine was aged only in vats and not in barrels to preserve its juicy and fruity side. The maceration was quite long but light in order to obtain an optimal quantity of fruits and tannins. Fabre on the Rocks is a juicy, fruity cuvée. We therefore recommend it with light dishes, charcuterie and cheese platters. When you open the bottle, it is ideal to decant the wine 30 minutes before tasting. The wine has been sealed with a cork, ensuring excellent homogeneity from one bottle to another and guaranteeing sensory neutrality. In terms of storage, this wine is to be consumed within 4 years. For these three wines, storage should preferably be carried out in a room where the temperature does not vary and is preferably around 12-13°C. The bottles should be stored horizontally.
